Let’s go for a ProcessMonitor capture the next time you reproduce the problem.   Maybe that capture might pick up some clue.

Launch Procmon.exe.

Click the icon of the Magnifying Glass to stop the capture.

Click the Clear icon to clear the captured events.

When you are one or two mouse clicks away from causing the problem to be reproduced, click the Capture button.

Make your one or two clicks to reproduce the problem, wait for the problem to be reproduced, and click the Capture button again to stop the Procmon capture.

From the file menu of Procmon, select SAVE and then save all events as a .PML file.    Save it again as a .CSV file.
